LED T8 Tube Retrofit
In early 2012, P-tec supplied two adjoining businesses in Alamosa, Colorado with a total of 40 Four-Foot LED T8 Tubes. We replaced each fluorescent tube with P-tec's ShineOn G3 Series C-UL Approved LED T8 Tubes. Each tube was rated at a color temperature of approximately 4000 degree Kelvin, which flooded the office building's rooms with an inviting, natural light. Learn more about our T8 Tubes.
Before the project began, building owner Mike Gibson had solar panels installed on the office building's roof. While this significantly reduced his monthly energy bill, he was still making monthly payments to the energy company. After installing our LEDs, Mike now enjoys a $0 per month energy bill, and he actually pumps energy back into the grid. On average, our T8 tubes are 50%-60% more efficient than fluorescent tubes, and close to 90% more efficient than incandescent lighting. See if LEDs are right for you.
LED T8 tubes have come a long way. Light output of our G Series T8 Tubes now either comes close to or matches that of a traditional fluorescent tube. As such, P-tec only installed two T8 tubes per fixture in the Cotton Grove and Krazy Kuts offices. This was more than enough to fill every room with a brilliant light, and helped to bring energy consumption down by a factor of two. Additionally, employees and customers no longer have to deal with the annoying hum of any fluorescent tubes.
